and One Heart from the Rock Church
“Worship at the Merc” was born out of a longtime dream of singer Scott Hill. Born in Mississippi, Scott has been singing in churches with his family’s gospel group since he was a young boy. He traveled all around the South before God called him and two friends in 2000 to pack up their families, head out to California and start Murrieta Valley Church, where he serves as the worship pastor. Last year, Scott had a vision (the regular kind) of finding a small intimate venue where local Christian artists could take praise and worship out of the traditional church setting and into the town square. This vision became “Worship at the Merc”. He assembled a small band “Immersed”, and now brings Christ-honoring music to Old Town Temecula the first Monday of each month.
Scott’s warm tenor tone has been the perfect match for Immersed’s songwriter/keyboardist David Regier’s soulful melodies. David;s CD “All Glory”, which saw the title track make its way on to the 2007 Women of Faith CD) also released Immersed with the band “Immersed”. This new collection features Hill’s vocals on the majority of the songs. In their first studio collaboration, there are already predictions of another winner in the title track.
Long time friend of both is guitarist Tony Langdon of Faith Bible Church, who was one of the original musicians with Scott at Murrieta Valley Church. Tony first met Regier at a jam session in 2002 and a close friendship began. The three of them, along with Tony’s brother Roger (who sings with Scott at MVC) decided to have a little fun and formed “Faultline”, a high-energy corporate/wedding band where they get a chance to let out their “funky” side. For booking and audio samples of “Faultline”, you can visit them at www.faultlinesocal.com.
Clark Edmond (Cross Point Church & The Way Family Church) will be providing the groove on drums and is also a case manager, therapist and Director of Rhythmic Arts at the Oak Grove Center. His Drumestra percussion group consisting of residents and students in treatment at Oak Grove will be featured at the festival. Clark brings over thirty years of music and worship experience and is a former member of the Christian rock band Idle Cure of the late 80’s. Clark is now deeply involved in providing therapeutic drum circles in the community for children, youth and adults in homes, churches, business and community event settings under his recently launched business called HeartBeats.
